Gabriel (Gabe) Francisco Villacorta Warren was born on April 6, 1984, in Tallahassee, Florida, where he attended local schools. He excelled in his studies, ultimately enrolling in the International Baccalaureate program during high school. Following high school, Gabriel attended Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in 2006 and pursued a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Minor in Political Science. At Duke, his hard work extended beyond academics; he also worked for the athletic department.

Building a Legal Foundation

After his time at Duke, Gabriel decided to pursue a career in law and enrolled at Vanderbilt University Law School in Nashville, Tennessee. He worked hard at law school and earned a Dean’s Scholar recognition. Gabriel was also actively involved in various competitions and student organizations. He participated in the Mock Trial and Moot Court Competitions. His interest in international law led him to join the International Law Practice Lab, where he gained invaluable experience.

During law school, Gabriel also dedicated his efforts to helping others by being involved in the Legal Aid Society. He completed his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree in May 2010.

Gabriel began building his legal career through various internships and roles in law school. In the spring of 2007, Gabriel worked as a Project Assistant for The Constitution Project in Washington, D.C. He then transitioned to being a Summer Intern for Judge Eugene E. Siler, Jr at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in London, Kentucky. Also, in the summer of 2008, Gabriel worked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of North Carolina in Charlotte. These experiences gave him first-hand experience of how the courts and government operate and make legal decisions.

During the summer of 2009, Gabriel worked as a Summer Associate at Parker Poe Adams & Bernstein in Charlotte, North Carolina. He assisted with legal issues, including drafting memos, briefs, and contracts. He also conducted legal research and helped with depositions and mediations.
